Louisiana vacations are fun to plan:  here are some great trip ideas and travel destinations.

Louisiana’s blend of people from different cultures has inspired the architecture throughout the state.  For example, the famous ironwork balconies in the French Quarter of New Orleans are actually Spanish inspired.  The Spanish governor, Bernardo de Gálvez, actually fought off the British forces;  the Spanish originally founded Gonzales and Baton Rouge was once called San Carlos.  Don’t forget the 14,000 years of Native American culture here, as well.

French, African and Acadian influences are all part of the wonderful Cajun food.  Creole, a term which has been used to differentiate peoples and cultures, now generally refers to great tasting

food.Louisiana’s music originated from African and West Indies styles, then was enhanced with German, Native American, Anglo-American, French and other embellishments.  Jazz, gospel, Cajun, and zydeco music are all proudly played here.
