Colorado is a beautiful state to plan a travel in whatever the season.  Some great trip ideas and destinations include:

Colorado has 23 Scenic and Historic Byways; great for biking, RVing or driving. 

There are 4 national parks; Mesa Verde, Rocky Mountain Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Great Sand Dunes National Park.  Colorado also has 40 state parks, 15 national forests and grasslands, and 5 national monuments.

Visitors can enjoy skiing, golf, hiking, kayaking, rafting, rock climbing, fishing, nature watching, dancing, dude ranches, snowboarding, shopping, fine dining,

sporting events, culture and the arts.

Several railroads offer access to mountain locations that are otherwise largely inaccessible.  These railroads once served mining communities which have since become tourist destinations.

Denver is known as the Mile High City because its altitude, 5,280 feet above sea level, is exactly one mile.

Colorado cuisine includes Mexican, Asian, Southwestern, and American influences.  Game meat, such as quail, venison, buffalo and elk, along with sage, corn, mushrooms squash and potatoes are popular local ingredients.
